1. Our Services

Phrase Ace is an educational, primarily offline mobile app that helps users learn English idioms. The App is designed for lawful, personal use only and is not intended for distribution or use in jurisdictions where such use would require additional compliance not satisfied by the Services.

The App does not include account registration, a backend server, or social features.

2. Advertising & Third-Party Services

The App displays third-party advertisements provided by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service operated by Google LLC. By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Advertisements will be displayed: The free version of the App includes advertisements. These ads are provided by Google and other third-party advertisers through the AdMob platform.
  • Third-party data collection: Google AdMob may collect and process certain information from your device to display personalized or contextual advertisements. This may include your advertising identifier, device information, IP address, and usage data. For complete details, see our Privacy Policy.
  • Ad content disclaimer: We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content of advertisements displayed by third-party advertisers. Advertisements are selected and served by Google AdMob based on various factors including your device information and app usage.
  • Third-party terms apply: Your interaction with advertisements may be subject to the advertiser's own terms and privacy policies. Google's services are governed by the Google Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
  • Removing advertisements: You may purchase the ad-free version of the App via in-app purchase to remove all advertisements. See Section 5 (Purchases & Payment) below for details.
  • No ad manipulation: You agree not to artificially manipulate, interfere with, or attempt to defraud the advertising system, including but not limited to clicking on ads for fraudulent purposes or using automated tools to generate ad impressions.

We reserve the right to modify the advertising implementation, including ad frequency, format, and providers, at any time without prior notice.

3. Intellectual Property

The App, its content (including text, illustrations, UI, and design), and trademarks are owned by or licensed to Velastra LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, translate, create derivative works of, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Services except as expressly permitted in these Terms or applicable platform rules.

4. User Representations

  • You are legally capable of agreeing to these Terms and will use the Services only for lawful purposes.
  • You will not attempt to circumvent security, extract datasets at scale, or reverse engineer the App except where permitted by law.
  • If you are 13–17, you have parental/guardian permission to use the App.

5. Purchases & Payment

Purchases made in the App, including one-time in-app purchases ("IAP") and any optional auto-renewing subscriptions (collectively, "Purchases"), are processed by the platform provider (e.g., Apple App Store or Google Play). We do not receive or store your full payment information.

  • Ad-Free Purchase: You may purchase a one-time in-app purchase to remove all advertisements from the App permanently on your device.
  • Billing and Renewal: Subscriptions, if offered, automatically renew for the then-current period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Manage or Cancel: You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your platform account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Trials: If a free trial is offered, any unused portion ends when you purchase a subscription.
  • One-Time Purchases: Certain features may be unlocked via a one-time non-consumable IAP.
  • Refunds: Refunds are handled by the platform per its policies. We cannot issue refunds for purchases made through the App Store or Google Play.

6. Software License (Velastra)

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control.

7. Prohibited Activities

  • Attempting to interfere with or compromise the integrity or security of the App.
  • Mining or scraping content or data at scale.
  • Using the App to violate any law, infringe IP rights, or distribute harmful code.
  • Manipulating, interfering with, or attempting to defraud the advertising system, including fraudulent ad clicks or automated ad impression generation.

8. Service Management

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features; impose limits; or restrict access as needed to maintain security, integrity, or compliance. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Services.

9. Privacy & Data

We value your privacy. Phrase Ace does not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email, or exact location.

To improve app quality and understand feature usage, we use privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics. These may include app version, OS type, and anonymized usage metrics.

Third-Party Advertising: Google AdMob, our advertising partner, may collect certain information from your device as described in Section 2 and our Privacy Policy. This includes advertising identifiers, device information, and usage data to display relevant advertisements.

9.1 Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we inadvertently received such data, please contact us.

10. Platform Terms (Apple & Google)

Your use of the App may also be subject to Apple or Google platform terms and policies. For iOS users, the Apple Standard EULA applies to your license to the App and its in-app content.

11. Accessibility & Localization

Phrase Ace is currently offered in English only. We aim to make the app accessible and usable for all users. If you encounter accessibility barriers, please contact us at contactus@velastrallc.com.

12. AI-Assisted Content

Some explanations may be generated or assisted by automated systems for educational purposes only.

13. Apple Standard EULA (iOS)

The following text is provided by Apple and applies to your use of the iOS version of the App. In the event of any conflict with these Terms on iOS licensing matters, this EULA controls.

LICENSED APPLICATION END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT Apps made available through the App Store are licensed, not sold, to you. Your license to each App is subject to your prior acceptance of either this Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Standard EULA"), or a custom end user license agreement between you and the Application Provider ("Custom EULA"), if one is provided. a. Scope of License: Licensor grants to you a nontransferable license to use the Licensed Application on any Apple-branded products that you own or control and as permitted by the Usage Rules. b. Consent to Use of Data: You agree that Licensor may collect and use technical data and related information—including but not limited to technical information about your device, system and application software, and peripherals—that is gathered periodically to facilitate the provision of software updates, product support, and other services to you (if any) related to the Licensed Application. c. Termination: This Standard EULA is effective until terminated by you or Licensor. Your rights under this Standard EULA will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its terms. d. External Services: The Licensed Application may enable access to Licensor's and/or third-party services and websites. You agree to use the External Services at your sole risk. e. NO WARRANTY: YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT USE OF THE LICENSED APPLICATION IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE LICENSED APPLICATION AND ANY SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. f. Limitation of Liability: TO THE EXTENT NOT PROHIBITED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LICENSOR BE LIABLE FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER. g. Export Control: You may not use or otherwise export or re-export the Licensed Application except as authorized by United States law and the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Licensed Application was obtained. h. Commercial Items: The Licensed Application and related documentation are "Commercial Items", as that term is defined at 48 C.F.R. §2.101. i. Governing Law: This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding its conflicts of law provisions.

FAQ

Do you track personal data?

We only collect anonymous aggregated usage analytics. However, Google AdMob may collect certain device information and advertising identifiers to display ads. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How can I remove ads?

You can purchase the ad-free version via a one-time in-app purchase to permanently remove all advertisements from the App.

Does my progress sync?

Progress is stored locally only.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Manage or cancel in your platform account settings (e.g., iOS: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions).

How do I restore a one-time purchase on iOS?

Use the "Restore Purchases" option in the App while signed into the same Apple ID.

Where do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google per their policies.
